Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, we can help.
Every bankruptcy is different. Here's how car buying usually works for each one.
Chapter 7 Liquidation bankruptcy
Chapter 7 often wipes out unsecured debt quickly. Many of our customers are able to buy as soon as their case is filed or discharged.
- Financing options during an open case or after discharge
- Less debt can mean more room in your budget for a payment
- An on-time auto loan is one of the best ways to rebuild credit
Chapter 13 Repayment plan bankruptcy
Need a vehicle while you're still in your plan? Most Chapter 13 cases need permission from your trustee or the court before a new loan, and we'll help you get there.
- We help with the paperwork your trustee needs
- We find a payment that fits alongside your plan payment
- Discharged from Chapter 13? You're welcome too
You don't have to wait for a discharge. Tell us where your case stands and we'll go from there.
Congratulations on your fresh start. Now's a great time to get a reliable vehicle and keep building credit.

Before you finalize.
Can I get approved while my bankruptcy is still open?
Yes, in many cases. We work with lenders who finance customers with open Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies. You don't always have to wait for a discharge.
I'm in a Chapter 13 plan. Do I need permission from my trustee?
Most Chapter 13 cases need approval from your trustee or the court before you take on a new car loan. Our finance team knows the process and will help you get the documents your trustee needs.
My bankruptcy was just discharged. Can I buy now?
Yes. A recent discharge is not a problem. A car loan with on-time payments is a great way to start rebuilding your credit.
Will applying hurt my credit?
Our team will explain the credit check before submitting your application to lenders. Ask us any questions you have when we reach out.
What should I bring?
Usually a valid driver's license, proof of income (like recent pay stubs), proof of residence, and your bankruptcy case information (case number, filing or discharge papers). We'll let you know exactly what your lender needs.
I have other credit problems too, like a repossession.
We still want to hear from you. We help customers with all kinds of credit history. Apply and our team will look at your full picture.
Your pre-approval won't wait forever.
Pre-approvals are valid for 7 days after you receive your letter. Finalize online in minutes, or give us a call.
